PRESS RELEASE 04/2013
DIN 4108 SUPPLEMENTARY SHEET 2 CERTIFICATE OF CONFORMITY FOR STRUCTURAL CONNECTIONS WITH ISO-CHEMIE MULTIFUNCTION JOINT SEALING TAPES
Calculations were based on two different execution versions which the two multifunction joint sealing tapes were planned for – one was the structural connection of a plastic frame profile to a monolithic exterior wall and the other to masonry insulated on the outside.
The thermal bridge catalogue according to DIN 4108 supplementary sheet 2 provides numerous typical installation situations as a planning basis in order to reduce thermal bridge effects. Unfortunately, these did not include any installation calculations using 3-layer sealing tapes such as the multifunction sealing tapes from ISO-Chemie.
Separate calculations were thus required in order to prove the equivalence of these sealing products to the DIN 4108 supplementary sheet 2. Care must always be taken that the structural connection details are planned and executed conform with the minimum thermal protection values specified in the thermal bridge catalogue.
Surface temperatures as constant as possible are desirable to achieve a cosy living climate which will work long-term in terms of physical building structure. Cold component surfaces caused by geometric, design and material-related thermal bridges can lead to surfaces subject to mould development.
The DIN 4108 supplementary sheet 2 conformity calculated by the ift Rosenheim gives retailers, processors and planners a safe basis to use the products ISO-BLOCO ONE and ISO-BLOCO multifunction tape in line with the requirements.
