ISO-CHEMIE RECEIVES “SME INNOVATION AWARD”

The well-known, independent market research institute bestowed its “SME Innovation Awards 2021/22” on small and medium-sized enterprises that have demonstrated an outstanding track record of innovation in their market segment. One assessment criterion for the award was the worldwide patent applications by German SMEs in 2020. Since patents enjoy the highest international recognition, they guarantee maximum objectivity.

With a broad portfolio of innovations, our company stood out in one of the most innovative fields under consideration – the field of design – and in the area of construction and transportation. This ensured a top place among the best SMEs in its industry. We scored especially highly with our ground-breaking solutions in the area of building seals.

ISO-Chemie has so far brought out just under 70 patent families with numerous individual applications – a powerful testament to our company’s impressive capacity for innovation.

One successful example of our great innovations is our patented ISO-BLOCO ONE multi-functional tape. Our CEO, Dr Martin J. Deiß explains, “With this product innovation, which we call a “multi-functional tape”, we have made a significant mark on what is now the established norm in today’s window installation. Multi-functional tapes create an energy-saving window seal by intelligently connecting the functional levels of weather-proofing, thermal and acoustic insulation and air tightness.”

Since this innovative product was first launched in 2007, we have sold way over 100 million linear metres as a testament to its efficacy. The ISO-BLOCO ONE multi-functional tape is thus providing permanent energy savings in some 20 million window units. As the product is so easy to use, it not only saves lots of time during installation, but it also sustainably reduces the use of valuable resources.

And there are more recent examples to demonstrate why ISO-Chemie received the Innovation Award. With ISO-BLOCO HYBRATEC, for which the patent application was recently filed, we have brought another generation of sealing tapes onto the market. The newly developed multi-functional tape is equipped with an integrated foil air barrier. This revolutionary hybrid technology combines the excellent impermeability to air and driving rain of window connection foils with the considerable expansion force and significant long-term capacity to absorb movements of pre-compressed PUR flexible foam.
