MULTI-FUNCTIONAL TAPE FOR AIR TIGHT JOINTS IN TIMBER CONSTRUCTIONS
Hybrid tape with foil barrier layer
ISO-BLOCO MULTITEC “TIMBER EDITION” is equipped with the modern hybrid technology developed by ISO-Chemie and is one of the new generation of sealing tapes. This hybrid combination of flexible, impregnated foam and an air tight, moisture-regulating foil membrane layer allows reliable and cost-effective joint sealing in timber structures. One important aspect is that the barrier membrane reliably prevents driving rain penetrating through the joint. This is a significant advantage over conventional joint sealing tapes. At the same time, joint tolerances and the movements caused when timber structures expand and shrink are reliably and permanently compensated.
Air tight, impermeable to driving rain and thermally insulating
The MF1-certified multi-functional tape is pre-compressed to 600 Pa, offering excellent impermeability to driving rain. ISO-BLOCO MULTITEC “TIMBER EDITION”, with its a-value of 0.05 (which is 20 times better than conventional pre-compressed sealing tapes) also offers reliable protection against convection heat losses. The multi-functional tape thus saves disproportionately more energy, while protecting the building structure, since the inner connection areas remain dry due to the internal barrier membrane.
A single sealing product can thus be used to create a 3-layer seal around window, door and other connection joints that is air tight, impermeable to driving rain and thermally insulating. The tape complies with the requirements of the EU Energy Performance of Buildings Directive, and conforms to the German Building Energy Act and the recommendations of the RAL “installation guide”.
Perfectly dimensioned for air tight timber joints
This multi-functional tape with its integrated foil barrier layer is available as standard in a broad range of widths from 60 - 194 mm. The tape can also be custom manufactured to specific widths to suit a given structural joint situation.
The installation-friendly tape is specifically tailored for joints in prefabricated timber construction. As it can be used in joints from 4 - 10 mm wide, the installer still has sufficient space and time for fast and trouble-free installation.
The option of customizing the width and the tailored functional area address the particular requirements of timber construction. This allows optimum solutions to be devised for creating dry connection areas.
Rated as “very low-emission”
ISO-BLOCO MULTITEC “TIMBER EDITION” was rated as “very low-emission” with the GEV mark EMICODE® EC1 PLUS. This premium classification by the Association for the Control of Emissions in Products for Flooring Installation, Adhesives and Building Materials e.V. (GEV) means maximum possible protection against ambient air contamination. As a result, both users and clients can be sure that the product does not give off hazardous substances into the ambient air and does not represent any risk to health.
