At BUDMA, the “Gold Medal” is awarded by a panel of renowned construction industry experts and representatives. It is awarded for products that demonstrate an especially high degree of innovation potential, quality, cost-effectiveness and modernity compared to the solutions offered by similar products. Factors such as aesthetics, functionality and effects on the environment are also examined.

Cost-effective sealing thanks to hybrid technology

With ISO-BLOCO MULTITEC we are extending our range of sealing tapes equipped with the hybrid technology we have developed. This innovative multi-functional tape can be used to create a 3-level seal that is air tight, impermeable to driving rain and thermally insulating around window, door and other connection joints. Sealing component joints thus becomes reliable, energy-efficient, time-saving and consequently very cost-effective.

This combination of flexible, impregnated PU foam and an integral air tight, moisture-regulating membrane film layer allows reliable joint sealing conforming to the “inside tighter than outside” principle. Even when subject to extreme climate changes, ISO-BLOCO MULTITEC offers excellent compensation for component movements thanks to its capacity to continuously absorb movement and thus reliably prevents convection heat losses.

Practical installation demonstrations inspire visitors

The installation demonstrations carried out every day allowed many trade visitors to see with their own eyes the actual time savings and economic benefits of hybrid multi-functional tapes. In a race against the clock, the installation and sealing of a window with ISO-BLOCO MULTITEC hybrid multi-functional tape was pitted against conventional window sealing with window connection foils in combination with PU foam. The outstanding product characteristics of the tape allowed it to be installed much faster and required considerably fewer materials.

Clever joint sealing with ISO-Chemie products

In addition to our multi-functional tape innovations, at BUDMA we presented other exciting products for energy-efficient building sealing. For example, the ISO-CONNECT VARIOFLEX SD+ window and facade connection foil was demonstrated; this is a universal foil with fold technology. When the fold is closed, the foil is used as the COMPLETE F variant with adhesive tape applied on one side. Opening the fold creates the COMPLETE F DUO foil with self-adhesive strips on both sides. The same foil can thus be used for all sealing applications between window frame and building structure.

The pre-compressed joint sealing tape ISO-BLOCO 600 “MAXIBOND EDITION” was especially interesting. This BG1-certified tape features exceptionally high initial adhesion and clings perfectly to joints on both sides thanks to its high elasticity. So it is clean to use, saving time in any weather and even on difficult substrates such as clinker or brick.

With the ISO-TOP RAIN PROTECTION PROFILE, the sealing specialist presented an upgrade to the versatile ISO-TOP WINFRAMER in front of wall installation system. This wedge, made from highgrade, compression-resistant XPS, was specially developed to reliably divert rainwater from the upper horizontal connection between components. Unwanted collection and backing up of water can thus be prevented even during the critical shell construction phase.
